Welcome to the Tech Lab
The Cisco Store Tech Lab
The Tech Lab is an operational retail environment powered by Cisco and Cisco Partner technology.
We deploy our partners’ technology in our stores to gather learnings and advance their products. Through this space, we are able to show customers where Cisco and retail are heading and what is available now.
Note: the SharePoint is only accessible with a Cisco ID.
External customers, please reach out to bdomine@cisco.com.
Where is the retail industry heading?
Focusing on sustainability
Monitoring and scheduling power consumption to increase cost savings and reduce carbon footprint
Leveraging AI
Gaining insights about customers to better cater to them and optimizing store processes to increase efficiency
The Cisco Store Tech Lab employs products such as Cogniac’s AI vision models, CAE Labs’ WiserWatts, Meraki’s new MV13 and MV33 smart cameras, and EVERYANGLE to stay ahead in the retail space.
AI vision models
In conjunction with Meraki cameras, this platform leverages artificial intelligence to optimize operations. The Tech Lab uses this technology to detect stock levels and abnormalities in merchandising.
When our Sustainability Campaign or Devnet T-shirt was picked up by a customer, we trained Cogniac on a Meraki MV63 camera to trigger a signage change via Wipro VisionEDGE to make the nearby screen display information about the shirt that was picked up. The three work in conjunction to educate customers in real-time about how our products empower an inclusive future for all.

WiserWatts
CAE’s WiserWatts monitors the power consumption of Meraki devices and provides power-saving, efficient energy recommendations.
With an eye towards a more sustainable future, the Tech Lab utilized CAE and the Meraki MT40 smart power controller to baseline our power consumption at Cisco Live EMEA 2024. We plan to schedule our power at next year’s shows to compare energy and cost savings.

MV13 smart camera
Launched in February 2024, the new MV13 indoor camera is ideal for monitoring hallways and other indoor spaces.
MV33 smart camera
Also launched in February 2024, the new MV33 indoor camera uses its 360° fisheye field of view to monitor general retail, education, hospitality, and healthcare spaces.
Attribute search and presence analytics
Along with the two new smart cameras, Meraki has also launched two new features: attribute search and presence analytics.
Attribute search allows security teams to easily and quickly parse through video footage based on a person’s clothing color (both top and bottom) as well as a vehicle’s color and make.
The presence analytics feature includes area occupancy analytics and line-crossing analytics. These will allow security teams to define areas to be analyzed and then accurately gain insights on people movement in those spaces.
Data analytics
In conjunction with Meraki cameras, we use EVERYANGLE to analyze customer data such as gender and age breakdown, customer sentiment, and more.
